The Big Bubba Filter Housing is a glass-reinforced polypropylene housing that is made to be durable and long lasting. Thanks to its heavy duty non-metallic construction, the Big Bubba is able to withstand both sea water and high pressure applications. The system does use proprietary cartridges that are designed to both easy to install and designed to handle high flow situations.

The Big Bubba Filter system is also designed for high pressure and high flow applications. Depending on the filters uses, it can support from 20 gallons per minute all the way up to 150 gallons per minute. Due to the polypropylene case and the stainless steel clamps and eyebolts that connect the cap can withstand psi pressure bursts up to 300 psi for short durations. It's normal working service capacity is up to 125 psi exceeding the 80 psi of most Big Blue style housings.

Big Bubba systems use 2" pipe fittings and large diameter center tubes for their filter cartridges to minimize pressure drops. The system allows for simple and inexpensive operation due to no backwashing being needed, no electric control valve or electrical connection; and can replace cartridges by removing the swing bolts and lid then rotating the cartridge and pull up.
